Capabilities & Flexibility
Q: Do you support small batch prototyping?
A: Yes. We provide flexible prototyping services for bare PCBs, PCBA, modules, and full box build assemblies, tailored to your project requirements.
Q: What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
A: There is no MOQ. We support one piece prototypes and scale seamlessly to mid and high volume production. Unit cost decreases significantly as order quantities increase.
Q: Can STHL provide one stop EMS solutions?
A: Yes. We deliver end to end EMS services including component sourcing, PCB design, DFM analysis, prototyping, small and large batch PCBA assembly, quality inspection and testing, plus CNC machining, injection molding, and cable assembly for complete box build projects.
Manufacturing Processes & Technical Capabilities
Q: Which component packages and manufacturing capabilities do you support? What is the minimum size?
A: We support mainstream SMT and advanced IC packages with mature miniaturization and high density design capabilities:
- Passive components: down to 01005 (0.4 mm × 0.2 mm), plus 0201, 0402, 0603, etc.
- IC packages: QFP, QFN, BGA (pitch down to 0.3 mm), CSP, LGA.
- Odd form components: connectors, shields, sensors, and other non standard parts.
- Process capability: line width/spacing down to 3 mil/3 mil; BGA solder joints inspected by X Ray for voids and reliability.
Q: Do you provide programming and functional testing?
A: Yes. We offer complete programming and functional test services within PCBA manufacturing:
- Programming: MCU, FPGA, EEPROM firmware programming with automated fixtures and programmers for batch consistency.
- Functional Testing (FCT): Simulates real operating conditions to verify interfaces, signal integrity, and load performance.
- MES Integration: All test data linked to MES for full traceability.
- Standards: Test processes comply with IPC and ISO requirements for automotive, medical, and industrial reliability.
Q: Do you have experience with conformal coating, selective soldering, and crimp connections?
A: Yes. We follow the same standards as leading EMS providers:
- Conformal Coating: Automated spray and selective coating with UV/IR curing; full MES traceability.
- Selective Soldering: Widely applied in mixed SMT/THT assemblies. Programmable soldering paths, nitrogen shielding, and precision nozzles ensure targeted soldering without damaging heat sensitive components. Ideal for high density, high mix, small batch production. Fully compliant with IPC J STD 001 and verified by AOI/X Ray.
- Crimp Connections: TE, Molex, and JST terminals supported. Pull force and continuity testing performed on every batch, in compliance with IPC/WHMA A 620.
Quality & Delivery
Q: How do you ensure PCBA quality and reliability?
A: We apply a three tier quality assurance system:
- IQC: 100% incoming inspection for ICs, BGAs, and critical components.
- In process inspection: SPI, flying probe first article test, AOI, X Ray, ICT, FCT, conformal coating.
- Outgoing inspection: OQC plus MES integration, IPQC stations, and QA systems to ensure batch consistency.
Q: Which reports are provided upon delivery?
A: Standard delivery includes:
- AOI inspection report (with defect location map)
- X Ray report (for BGA/QFN assemblies)
- Functional test report (if customer provides test plan)
- Final inspection report (per IPC A 610 standards)
Q: What are your lead times for samples and mass production?
A: Standard samples: scheduled within 3 days, delivered in 10–15 days. Mass production: as fast as 15 days. Urgent samples: 72 hour expedited channel (subject to design pre review).
Q: Do you support rush orders?
A: Yes. We reserve 20% production capacity (one SMT line + 50 flexible staff) for expedited orders, handling up to 60,000 additional boards per month.
Quotation & Pricing
Q: What information is required for a quotation?
A: PCB details (quantity, Gerber files, material, surface finish, copper thickness, board thickness) and PCBA details (BOM, design drawings, test documentation). We complete a DFM manufacturability review within 12 hours (covering 28 key checkpoints) and provide a customized quotation package.
Q: What factors influence pricing?
A: Raw material costs, brand selection, delivery speed, order volume, process complexity, labor costs, and supply chain conditions all affect final pricing. We balance competitive pricing with strict quality standards.
Q: How do you protect customer design files and intellectual property?
A: We take confidentiality very seriously. All customer PCB files (Gerber, BOM, schematics, test documentation) are handled under strict access control and used solely for the purpose of fulfilling the corresponding order. Upon request, we sign a formal Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to guarantee that your design data will not be disclosed to any third party. After project completion, files are archived or destroyed according to customer instructions. Our processes comply with ISO information security practices, ensuring full protection of your intellectual property throughout the production lifecycle.
Logistics & After Sales
Q: Do you provide expedited shipping or delivery services?
A: Yes. Samples can be delivered within 24 hours; large volume orders also support expedited shipping. We work with DHL, FedEx, and other reliable partners to ensure fast delivery.
Q: What logistics options are available?
A: Small batches: door to door courier. Large batches (300 kg+): sea or air freight, or customer appointed forwarders.
Q: What is your policy for lost or damaged goods?
A: We assist customers in investigation and resolution. We encourage inspection upon receipt and documentation of any issues, with logistics company confirmation for traceability.
Q: What is your return or replacement process?
A: Customer complaint → Analysis & investigation → Resolution (replacement, repair, or refund). The process is streamlined for efficiency.
Q: How do you handle after sales quality issues?
A: Based on the 8D methodology: problem definition, containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention. Re inspection within 24 hours; confirmed production issues resolved with rework/replacement within 48 hours. Certification related failures refunded in full and reworked within 15 business days.
