A Double sided Rigid PCB is a printed circuit board (PCB) that uses plated through-holes (PTHs) to achieve electrical interconnections on an FR-4 rigid PCB substrate with copper cladding on both sides. It is also commonly referred to as:

  • Double Layer Rigid PCB
  • Two-Layer Rigid PCB

Compared to a Single Layer Rigid PCB or 1 Layer Rigid PCB, it offers greater routing freedom and enhanced electrical performance. Compared to multi-layer PCBs, it provides advantages in cost and process complexity, making it particularly suitable for medium-complexity circuit designs.
