On October 23, 2026, two visitors from the United States came to Shenzhen STHL Technology Co., Ltd. (STHL) with an early-stage health-related product concept.
The meeting brought together STHL's product manager, software engineers, and hardware engineers. Drawing on examples from previous product design work, the team discussed possible approaches to concept validation and technical questions that still needed to be clarified.
For similar early-stage projects, customers can share an initial product outline, functional requirements, or preliminary design information with our team at info@pcba-china.com.

SMT, THT and Assembly Checks
After the meeting, the visitors toured STHL's SMT (surface-mount technology) and THT (through-hole technology) production areas. The team introduced the equipment and processes used in PCB Assembly.
First-article inspection is used to check the initial assembly against production requirements before the rest of the production run proceeds. Automated optical inspection (AOI) and manual visual inspection help identify visible assembly defects, while X-ray inspection helps examine hidden solder joints and other internal assembly features for defects.
Component Warehouses and MES
The visit then moved to STHL's two electronic component warehouses, where materials of different sizes and formats are stored and managed.
The team explained how an X-ray component counter checks component quantities on reels, along with how materials are put away, issued, and handled during production.
They also discussed how STHL uses its manufacturing execution system (MES) to record relevant material movements and production information for later reference and process review.
For projects with defined PCB assembly requirements, existing engineering files and project details can be submitted through Request a Quote for review or quotation.
We appreciate our visitors making the trip to Shenzhen and taking the time to meet with our product and engineering teams. We look forward to continuing the discussion as their project requirements and concept validation plans become clearer.
